Sacramental Preparation

Recognizing the importance of parents in a child’s faith formation, our sacramental preparation program is designed to be completed within the context of the family. Your family will be presented with two boxes entitled Mend and Nourish, containing all of the lesson instructions, activities and materials needed for this process. These are designed to be completed by the entire family and should take approximately 20 minutes. They will be assigned monthly and are to be completed in addition to the other family catechesis assigned through our PSR Family of Faith curriculum. Our prayer is that this will be a special time for you and your child(ren) as you learn about and prepare for these important sacraments.
In addition to the monthly family lessons, please be aware of the following dates:
- Mandatory Sacramental Preparation Meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Gym.
- First Reconciliation – Tuesday, February 7, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Church
- PSR First Communion Retreat for the student and parent – Date and Location TBA
- First Holy Communion – Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
There is also a sacramental preparation fee of $75. This covers the cost of sacramental preparation materials and the retreat scheduled for April 2. Checks should be written out to St. Angela Merici Catholic Church with “sacramental preparation” written in the memo. Fees must be submitted no later than Friday, September 2. This is separate from the annual PSR registration fee of $40.
