Outside of the Sacraments and Mass, there are individual prayers and devotions that enrich our parish prayer life. Many of these devotions bring a group of individuals together to celebrate a common devotion that focuses on one unique aspect of prayer. St. Angela Merici Parish offers many opportunities to pray in communion with one another.
How do you link the Bible to your daily life? Find out Tuesday mornings when our Scripture study group meets at 9:15 a.m. in the Religious Education Library to pray with the readings for the upcoming Sunday and learn how those readings can be applied in our daily lives. The group also studies books from both the Old and New Testaments using various scholastic commentaries. For more information, please contact the Parish Office at 504-835-0324.
A Scripture Study group meets each Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. to learn about the books of the Old and New Testaments, exploring their theology, history, literary forms, and the people and places encountered in each book. This Scripture Study can help you discover how God’s Word is alive today. For more information, contact Marilyn Heap at 504-835-9373.
You are invited to join our Wednesday morning prayer group at 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Room. Parishioners have been gathering for 45 years for praise and worship, intercessory prayer and Scripture reading. Mass is celebrated on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. There is a time for prayer and fellowship at our meetings. For more information, please contact Elsa Hodges at [email protected]
The Rosary is one of the most powerful forms of prayer that we have. Through it, we are placed in the hands of Jesus by His loving mother.
Please join us every Tuesday following the 9:00 a.m. Mass to pray the Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
The St. Angela Merici Prayer Line is a powerful and important way for us to bond as a faith community. Please send prayer requests no later than Friday of each week so they can be included on the prayer line going out that weekend. Or, if you would like to simply join us in praying for those in our parish, please contact Beth Kliebert at [email protected].
